The Adam Mickiewicz University was founded on 7 May 1919 in Poznan, Poland, as a public research university. Its real name was Piast University, which before in 1920 was specified  University of Poznan. Throughout world war II employees and students of the institute accessed an underground Polish University of the Western Lands. In 1955 Institute of Poznan employed a new promoter, the 19th century smooth romantics poet Adam Mickiewicz, and replaced it with its present name. The institute is arranged into six main educational units, five analysis schools comprising twenty potentials and the doctoral school with quadrangles across the famous old town and Morasko. The university staffs 4,000 educational, and has more than 40,000 students who study in some 80 regulations. The language of direction is generally Polish, although various degrees are provided in German and English. The institute is presently declaring over 79 analysis journals, most of them on the press declaring platform placed on the open journal system. Adam Mickiewicz University magazine involves over 23,704 records of analysis declarations and is one of the first analysis magazines in Poland. The institute also uses a character of more construction in the southern and western state of Poznan. Although, it is powerfully expanding its site at Morasko in the north of the city. As of 2006, the potentials of physics, geographical, computer science, biology, mathematics and geological sciences had proceeded to the new situation. 

Established on 7 May 1919 in Poznan, Poland, the Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) is a renowned public research institution. Initially known as Piast University and later as the University of Poznan, during World War II, its faculty and students operated underground as the Polish University of the Western Lands. In 1955, it adopted its current name and honored the 19th-century Romantic poet Adam Mickiewicz. With six main educational units, five research schools, and a doctoral school, AMU accommodates over 40,000 students across various disciplines. The university publishes a substantial number of research journals and is expanding its facilities in Poznan's Morasko district.
