Lund University was founded in 1666, as a public research university. The university is situated in Lund, Sweden. The institute was at its beginning under four faculties: Medicine, Philosophy, Law, and Theological. The first woman to study in Lund University was Hildegard Björck in 1880 who had previously studied in Upasala and had been the first Swedish woman ever to get an academic degree.
