Traditions: Academic dress is required for disciplinary hearings, matriculation, visiting university officers and examinations. The Oxford colleges arrange many tutorial lessons for students and the members of an academic department. All the colleges provide library facilities at all levels. 

Clubs and Societies: Various sports are played between college teams, as tournaments called Cuppers. The university organizes many varsity matches played against Cambridge such as the Boat Race and traditional sports. 

Student Union: The Oxford University Student Union is known as Oxford SU. The union is well known for its acronym OUSU. It is an association of more than 21,000 Oxford University students.

Hostel & Facilities

A wide range of accommodation are available at Oxford University for graduate students which are offered by both the University and the colleges. Students can also secure housing in private sectors also. The university offers 72% of accommodation in university or college to full-time graduate 'freshers' and 53% of full-time graduate students.

Accommodation for Undergraduate Students: The undergraduate students of first year are provided with all accommodation facilities at the Oxford colleges or nearby the college annexe. The college offers one further year of accommodation to freshers. While some colleges provide accommodation facilities for the entire course duration. Oxford University also has a huge selection of privately-rented houses and flats for students who choose to ‘live-out' from the colleges. Living out does not cost much as houses are normally rented for complete program duration and offers a student-friendly environment. Students who choose to live out can also use college facilities such as meals and washing machines. The Oxford University Students Union (Oxford SU) gives guidance to living out students and solves their accommodation issues.
