France Unveils Initiatives to Attract 30,000 Indian Students by 2030
French President Emmanuel Macron, who was invited as the guest of honor at the Republic Day parade, has announced a series of measures aimed at increasing the number of Indian students studying in France. He emphasized the goal of having more than 30,000 students by 2030 and stated that international classes would be established in universities for students who do not speak French. Efforts will also be made to teach French in public schools and simplify the visa process for Indian students.
France is a popular destination for international students, but the language barrier has been a challenge. Despite this, study in France offers high-quality education at affordable tuition fees.
President Macron shared insights about the ranking of French universities, mentioning that 35 universities are included in the QS ranking and around 15 in the Times Higher Education ranking.
In an official statement, the president announced the launch of new initiatives to promote French language learning in public schools, such as the "French for All, French for a Better Future" program. He also mentioned the establishment of new centers to learn French through the network of Alliances françaises. Additionally, international classes will be introduced to allow students who do not speak French to enroll in French universities. Lastly, the visa process will be streamlined for former Indian students who have studied in France.
The president concluded by expressing his belief in the potential of collaboration between India and France, particularly through the exchange and cooperation of young people, fostering trust and friendship.
