India has Reached the Highest in International Students Enrollment in the US
This week, the Open Door 2023 report on the International Educational Exchange reveals that the USA hosted over one million (1,057, 188) international students in the 2022/2023 academic year. There is a 12% increase reported as compared to previous academic years.
According to the Open Doors report from the Institute of International Education and the State Department the total number of Indian students Studying in the USA reached 268,923, up 35%. It has set the country's record as the most populous destination for overseas education.
The report shows that approximately 166,000 Indian students are seeking to pursue a master's or advanced degree in the US specifically in the cities of New York, California, Texas, Illinois and Massachusetts. Pursuing a bachlors and masters in the US for international students has become an ideal choice all across the world.
Marianne Craven acting deputy assistant secretary of state said “The USA has a strong relationship with India for education, which is continuously getting stronger and connected between the government and education sector due to the top-flight faculty of US universities and colleges.”
This fall of 2023, the University of Texas at Austin enrolled nearly 1,248 Indian students and the University of Maryland at College Park reported the enrollment of 1,589 Indian students. Most of the Indian students at both public flagship universities are graduate students.
The count of international students who choose to study in the USA includes bachelor's and master's students with a few enrollments for online programs.
