Malaysia is Planning to Extend the Visa Route for International Graduate Students
Malaysia is a top-tier country to study and work in. high-quality education and better career opportunities are the top reasons, every year thousands of students choose to study in Malaysia. Now international graduate students in Malaysia will be able to apply for a Long-Term Social Visit Pass. This great opportunity for international students is announced under the latest budget plan of the country. Currently, this visa is only available for groups such as spouses of citizens, which will allow international students to live in the country for up to five years.
Presently, an offer of employment is needed for international students to take permission to remain in Malaysia after completion of education. No timescale has been announced for the extension of eligibility for international graduates to apply for the visa.

Malaysia Student Visa: Initially, Malaysia issues Student Pass/Visa for 1 year and then it can be extended as per the duration of student’s course. Currently the visa extension fees cost around RM 60 (INR 1000). Students need to apply for their visa extension at least 1 and half months before the current visa expires.
Malaysia Work Visa: Malaysia offers the Work Pass/Visa for one year only. This visa is extended by the employer that depends on your working contracts. It can be done by the employer by visiting the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
