New Scholarship Scheme to Study Abroad for Students from Minority Communities
The study abroad officials of India have announced that the scholarship will be open for students who are eligible to take admission in a postgraduate program abroad university ranking among top 200 in the QS World Ranking 2024.
On Tuesday the Maharashtra Cabinet approved a new scholarship scheme for abroad education of 27 Indian students who belong to minority communities. According to the officials, the scholarship will be open for those minority community students who are eligible for unconditional admission in a postgraduate PhD program at globally-ranked universities abroad. The university where the student is going to pursue higher studies must be ranked within the top 200 universities in the world based on the QS World Ranking.
During the meeting of officials they have decided an expenditure of Rs 10.80 crore was sanctioned for this scholarship scheme. It includes total 10 scholarships for Science, Engineering, Technology, six each for Liberal Arts and Humanities, Medicine and Biology,
two for Law and Commerce and three for Agriculture courses.
