The USA has Issued Around 1,40,000 Visas to Indian Students in 2023
The USA has issued more than 10.5 million visas to Indian students in 2023 which is hitting the highest level of its overseas education mission.
The USA is now trying to promote people-to-people ties with India and taking various steps to reduce the waiting period for visa appointments.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Visa Services, Julie Stufft said in an interview, “ The USA mission is to work six and seven days a week in India to ensure interview of students before their classes start in US universities. In 2023, the USA will make huge efforts to concentrate on the demand of students coming out of India.” She added that “ there are a huge number of workers and students applying to work and study in the US in 2024.”
“ I hope this year, students will get their student visas in a record time. We are sending a huge number of visa officers to India to reduce the waiting time and move to India as required. The visa process has become much better than before but still needs to come down a bit.”
“ Recently, we had a state visit, from the president of course to Ambassador (Eric) Garcetti and the secretary of state to expand the ties between the public of India and the USA.” She said, “We are expecting a more innovative and quicker process for the future.” The State Department official shared that any Indian who wants to travel and study in the US is required as soon as possible.
